What E-Verify Means For Small Businesses & U.S. Workers

In late September, the U.S. House Judiciary Committee approved H.R. 2885 (PDF), the Legal Workforce Act, which would require all American businesses to adopt the federal electronic employment verification system known as E-Verify to screen prospective employees.

On Monday, October 24, CEI hosted a Capitol Hill briefing where regulatory experts discussed how E-Verify will impact American business owners and U.S. workers. The panel, which will featured a diverse range of activists and policy analysts from conservative, liberal, and libertarian organizations, offered various perspectives on the economic, regulatory, and privacy implications of H.R. 2885.
